Carrbrook is a former mill village in Tameside, nestled in the Pennine foothills between Mossley and Stalybridge. Reach it via the A635 from Manchester (M60 Junction 23) or across Saddleworth Moor from Yorkshire. The village sits about a mile from Mossley station on the Manchester-Leeds railway line. The original 1902 Co-operative Society building still stands with "Labor and Wait" carved in stone above its entrance.
