Carnousie lies in Aberdeenshire's farming country, 9km southwest of Turriff via the A947. Most visitors arrive from Aberdeen (60km) along the A947 through Oldmeldrum, or from the south via Huntly and the A920. About 13 fast EV chargers operate in nearby towns. The area's claim to fame is the striking Art Deco Tarlair Swimming Pool near Macduff, now a clifftop ruin.
