Carmunnock is a small village on Glasgow's southern fringe that's kept its rural feel despite the city's expansion. Take the A727 from Glasgow through Castlemilk, or use M77 Junction 3 for longer trips. Most visitors are local commuters, though weekenders come for countryside walks and golf. The 18th-century parish church with its weathered red sandstone walls still holds regular services after two and a half centuries.
