Carlops

Scotland
Carlops is a small Borders village 25km south of Edinburgh, positioned in the Pentland Hills where moorland meets farmland. The A702 runs straight through, connecting Edinburgh via Penicuik with the M74 corridor, making it a natural stop for those heading to the Southern Uplands. The village serves as a gateway to Pentland Hills Regional Park, with marked walking trails starting nearby. Carlops gets its name from an ancient standing stone that still marks the village boundary.
