Carfin lies in North Lanarkshire between Motherwell and Wishaw, about 15 miles southeast of Glasgow. The M74 Junction 5 provides the main access via the A725, whilst the A721 serves local traffic from Motherwell. The town's standout attraction is the Carfin Lourdes Grotto, built by miners in 1922 as a replica of the French shrine.
