Capheaton is a small Northumberland village about 20 miles northwest of Newcastle, reached via the A696 through Ponteland then minor roads past Belsay. The area sits amongst typical border country farmland with stone walls and ancient field boundaries. Electric vehicle drivers will find over 40 public fast chargers nearby. The village is notable for Capheaton Hall, a magnificent 17th-century mansion built by Sir John Swinburne with classical facade and formal gardens.
