Camascross lies on Skye's Sleat Peninsula along the A851, the main route connecting the island's southern villages. Most reach it via the A87 and Skye Bridge, then south through Broadford. The village enjoys a sheltered coastal position with views across to the mainland, and takes its name from a Gaelic phrase meaning "bay of the cross."
