Cairston lies on Orkney's Mainland, reached via the A965 from Stromness ferry terminal just 2km away. Most visitors arrive by ferry from Scrabster then follow this main route east toward Kirkwall. The area has good EV charging with roughly a dozen fast chargers nearby. Cairston provides easy access to the Standing Stones of Stenness, part of Orkney's UNESCO World Heritage Neolithic sites.
