Cainscross forms part of Stroud's mill valleys in the Cotswolds, reached via Junction 13 of the M5 then the A419. The A46 offers a scenic alternative through the hills, whilst the A419 connects eastward to Swindon and the M4. Over 90 fast EV chargers serve the area. The settlement retains several 18th-century textile mill buildings along its historic waterways.
