Byker

England
Byker lies just east of Newcastle city centre, a former shipbuilding quarter now known for its bold 1970s architecture. The A167 provides the quickest route from town, whilst the A1058 connects drivers arriving from Newcastle Airport. The area's sheltered riverside location and approximately 400 public fast chargers nearby make it a practical base for exploring Tyneside. Ralph Erskine's serpentine Byker Wall housing estate remains one of Britain's most striking examples of Brutalist design.
