Buttevant

Buttevant sits on the N20 about 30 kilometers north of Cork city, making it a handy stop between Cork and Limerick. The town serves as a natural break point on this busy north-south route, with good access from the M8 via Mitchelstown. You'll find around 20 electric vehicle charging stations in the area, which is useful given the heavy traffic flow. The surrounding farmland rolls gently toward the Blackwater River valley. Buttevant has a proper claim to fame as the birthplace of steeplechasing, when riders raced from the local church steeple to Doneraile in 1752.
