Butterknowle

England

England

Butterknowle is a former mining village along the A68 in County Durham, surrounded by rolling countryside between Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle. The A68 provides the main access route, connecting to the A1(M) at Junction 58, whilst local roads link to nearby Cockfield and Evenwood. Electric vehicle drivers will find approximately 40 public fast chargers in the area. The village retains its 1878 Victorian primary school, complete with original red-brick architecture and bell tower.
