Burslem forms part of Stoke-on-Trent's famous six pottery towns, accessible via the A500 and M6. Known as the "Mother of the Potteries," it's where Josiah Wedgwood established his first pottery works in 1759. The town centre retains its Victorian character with the distinctive Wedgwood Institute building dominating the market square.
