Burnend lies in Moray's farming country, reached via the A98 coastal route or B9018 from nearby villages. The A947 provides connections south to Aberdeen, whilst the A96 trunk road sits to the west. Electric vehicle charging is readily available with about 13 fast chargers locally. The village sits amongst Scotland's finest barley fields, much of which supplies Speyside's whisky distilleries.
