Bunbeg is a small Gaeltacht village on Donegal's northwest coast where Irish is still the first language. The drive from Dublin takes about four hours via the N4 and N15, with the final stretch on the R257 winding through stone walls and small farms. From Belfast, take the A5 to Omagh then the N15 through Donegal town. The village sits among boglands and scattered islands, with its harbour serving both local fishing boats and ferries to Arranmore Island, just a 20-minute crossing to Ireland's second-largest inhabited island.
