Bugthorpe is a small Yorkshire Wolds village reached via the A166 from York, about 15km northeast. Most visitors arrive on local routes under 50km, with the A1079 from Hull providing eastern access. The village sits amongst rolling chalk hills with over 30 EV charging points nearby. Its distinctive name derives from Old Norse, meaning "Bucca's village."
