Bruray lies on Whalsay, one of Shetland's outer islands, reached via the A970 to Laxo then a half-hour ferry crossing. The island's single road connects scattered settlements including nearby Housay. Ferry times are weather-dependent, so check schedules before travelling. The harbour hosts one of Scotland's most modern fishing fleets.
