Brook Bottom occupies a valley setting in Tameside, where Greater Manchester meets the Pennine foothills. The A635 provides direct access from Junction 23 of the M60, whilst local routes connect through Ashton-under-Lyne and surrounding mill towns. The area's name derives from its position where several brooks once converged in the valley bottom.
