Bridgehouse Gate lies just outside Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale, reached via the B6265 from Harrogate through limestone valleys and moorland. Long-distance visitors typically drive from Leeds or Bradford via the A61 and A59 to Harrogate, then follow the scenic B6265 northward. The area has over 30 EV charging points for Dales explorers. The settlement's name comes from an old toll bridge across the River Nidd, with original gate remnants still visible today.
