Brenish perches on Lewis's wild Atlantic coast, about 50km west of Stornoway via the A858 and narrow B8011. The single-track road winds through peat moorland past grazing sheep, requiring an hour's careful driving with passing places. EV drivers should charge in Stornoway first, as only one fast charger operates locally. The village sits near Uig Sands, where the famous medieval Lewis Chessmen were unearthed in 1831.
