Brackenber lies in Cumbria's Eden Valley, perfectly positioned between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The A66 provides the main access route, connecting to the M6 for longer journeys, whilst the A685 links south through Appleby-in-Westmorland. Local routes serve nearby Murton and Hilton within a couple of kilometres. Around 11 fast EV charging points cater for electric vehicles in the area. The town stands where ancient cattle drovers' routes once converged.
