Borrisokane

united kingdom

Borrisokane is a handy market town in North Tipperary, sitting on the R489 between Birr and Nenagh in the Shannon basin's fertile lowlands. Most visitors come off the M7 at Junction 23 near Nenagh, then follow the R445 north for about 15 kilometers before joining the R489. The town serves as a useful connector for traffic between Birr and Nenagh, with decent access to golf courses at Portumna and Birr. There's a good spread of fast chargers for electric cars in the area. The main street is anchored by a clock tower from 1893, built for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.
