Boldron is a small Durham Dales village overlooking the Tees valley, reached via the B6277 from Barnard Castle 6km away. Most visitors use the A66 corridor, turning north through Bowes or Greta Bridge. The 12th-century church of St. Bartholomew contains exceptional Norman stonework, including a rare carved tympanum above the south door.
