Boars Hill

Boars Hill perches on high ground southwest of Oxford, home to grand houses built by university dons seeking countryside retreats. Reach it via the A34 to Botley, then climb steep lanes through Wootton village. The elevated position creates cooler temperatures and morning mists that lift to reveal sweeping views across the Thames Valley. The distinctive round tower of Jarn Mound, built in 1931 as a war memorial to poets, crowns the summit.
