Blencogo is a small Cumbrian village about 10km southwest of Carlisle, reached via the A596 through Wigton or the B5299. Most visitors are locals heading to Carlisle or coastal towns, though it makes a quiet base for exploring the Solway coast or northern Lakes. The village sits on reclaimed salt marsh, and you can still trace the medieval drainage patterns in today's field boundaries.
