Blencarn is a small Cumbrian village in the Eden Valley, reached via the A686 from Junction 40 of the M6 near Penrith. It sits between the Lake District and Pennines, making it a useful stop for drivers crossing between the Yorkshire Dales and western Cumbria. The 12th-century St. Cuthbert's Church contains remarkable Norman stonework.
