Blagill perches in Cumbria's remote North Pennines, reached via the A689 from Hexham or A686 from Penrith. Local routes connect to Alston and former lead mining villages within a few miles. The narrow roads can be treacherous in winter snow. The village sits beside the South Tyne Trail, a converted railway path winding through dramatic upland valleys.
