Blacktop lies in Aberdeen's western suburbs along the A944, forming part of the commuter belt between the city and Royal Deeside. The A944 provides direct access to Aberdeen centre, whilst the nearby A90 peripheral route connects to the wider road network. With over 100 EV charging points across the area and Aberdeen Airport 15 kilometres away, it's well-positioned for both local and long-distance travel. The settlement's name derives from an old coaching road, where Red Beard's Well once provided refreshment for weary travellers.
