Bixter is a small Shetland settlement on the A970, about 25km northwest of Lerwick. The main route follows the central valley, connecting to nearby Aith and the airport area. With over 10 EV charging points nearby, it's well-positioned for island touring. The village name derives from Old Norse "Bólstaðr," meaning farmstead.
