Birkin is a small North Yorkshire village near the River Aire, accessed via the A19 through Beal. The M62 motorway lies 15 minutes away, connecting to Leeds, Hull and Manchester, while the A1(M) is 20 minutes east. St. Mary's Church houses remarkable 14th-century wall paintings discovered in the 1960s.
