Bickerton lies on Devon's South Hams coast between Kingsbridge and Salcombe, reached via the A379 from Dartmouth or A381 from Kingsbridge. The scenic coastal route through Stokenham proves most popular with visitors, whilst locals use the network of narrow lanes connecting nearby villages. About 14 EV charging points serve the area, mainly in Kingsbridge. The village sits remarkably close to Hallsands, whose 1917 storm-damaged ruins remain visible on the beach below.
