Bettiscombe is a small Dorset village near the Devon border, reached via country lanes from the A35 at Marshwood. The area's rolling hills offer pleasant walking, whilst the village itself centres around the historic manor house. Most notable is Bettiscombe Manor's legendary screaming skull, which local folklore insists must never leave the premises.
