Belclare sits along the N63 in eastern County Galway, making it a handy stop between Galway city and the midlands. It's about 45 kilometres from Galway city and connects easily to the M6 motorway near Ballinasloe. The town works well as a base for exploring the region, with Ireland West Airport Knock just 25 kilometres south. Local traffic uses it to connect between the N63 and smaller roads heading to Tuam and surrounding villages. The Connacht Whiskey Company operates a distillery nearby, producing single malt Irish whiskey in traditional copper pot stills that you can tour by appointment.
