Bekan

united kingdom

united kingdom

Bekan sits on the N5 between Dublin and Westport, making it a handy stop for anyone heading to Mayo's coast. The town is about 200 kilometers from Dublin via the N5, or roughly 60 kilometers from Galway by taking the N17 north to Tuam then connecting west. Regional roads like the R323 and R331 link it to Claremorris and Knock respectively. The area has decent electric vehicle charging with about 15 fast stations along this busy corridor. What's interesting is that Bekan was originally meant to be the site of Knock Airport before it was moved, and the old railway station from 1862 still stands from the days when trains ran the Dublin-Westport line.
