Bates Cottages is a former mining village near Seaton Delaval in southeast Northumberland, easily reached via the A190 coast road from Newcastle (15km) or the A19 from further north. The area's over 300 EV charging points reflect its evolution from coal country to modern commuter territory. The village retains its original 19th-century miners' cottages, built from local stone.
