Bassenthwaite is a small Lake District village near Keswick, reached via the A591 from the M6 at Penrith. The area offers excellent fell walking with views of Skiddaw, plus good EV charging infrastructure for touring. St. Bega's church houses a remarkable 1,000-year-old Anglo-Saxon stone cross.
