Barnburgh is a small South Yorkshire village positioned between Doncaster and Barnsley in former coal mining country. The A635 provides direct access to Doncaster city centre just one kilometre away, with the M18 motorway easily reached for longer journeys to Leeds and Sheffield. The village retains its 12th-century St. Peter's Church, famous for rare medieval wall paintings of St. George discovered during 1960s restoration work.
