Barmpton is a small residential area just south of Darlington in County Durham, easily reached via the A167 from Junction 57 of the A1(M). The village sits along the historic Great North Road coaching route, with the A66 trans-Pennine road nearby for western connections and Teesside Airport 15 miles northeast. Several 18th-century buildings remain from its coaching inn days.
