Barleycove

Barleycove sits at the southwestern tip of the Mizen Peninsula, about 20 kilometers from Schull and 100 kilometers from Cork city along the Wild Atlantic Way. Take the N71 west through Clonakilty and Skibbereen, then the R592 and R591 to reach this remote coastal spot. The final stretch involves narrow, winding roads that demand careful driving. The main draw is a spectacular crescent-shaped sandy beach backed by protected dunes, accessed via a wooden boardwalk that keeps visitors off the delicate ecosystem.
