Bargrennan is a small Dumfries and Galloway village on the A714, serving as the main gateway to Glentrool Forest Park. Most visitors arrive from Glasgow via the A77 and A714, or from Edinburgh via the A75 and Newton Stewart. The village sits in remote forest country with cooler, wetter conditions than the coast, and houses the Martyrs' Tomb commemorating six Covenanters killed in 1685.
