Banstead perches on Surrey's chalk downs about 15 miles south of London, serving as a popular commuter base. The A217 provides the main route north to Sutton and the M25 at junction 8, whilst the A240 offers eastern access from Kingston. Most long-distance visitors use the M25, either junction 8 or 9, making it easily accessible from both Gatwick and central London. The original village pond remains intact at the town center, complete with ducks and surrounded by period cottages.
