Ballynahinch sits in County Galway about 40 kilometers northeast of Galway City, making it a handy base for exploring Connemara and the shores of Lough Corrib. The main route from Dublin follows the M6 west to Galway, then takes the N59 north before turning onto local roads. There's decent EV charging around Galway and along the tourist routes for electric cars. The real draw here is Ballynahinch Castle, a 13th-century fortress turned luxury hotel that hosts traditional Irish music sessions in its great hall every Thursday evening.
