Ballymoe sits along the N63 in County Roscommon, making it a handy stop between Roscommon town and Athlone. Most drivers come via the N61 from Dublin through Roscommon town, or from Galway using the N6 to Ballinasloe then the R357 north. The village is about two hours from Dublin and an hour from Galway. The real draw here is the restored 19th-century railway station that's now a museum celebrating the old Midland Great Western Railway line that once connected Ballymoe to the national network.
