Ballykeeran sits on Lough Ree's eastern shore in County Westmeath, just 8 kilometers north of Athlone via the N55. This small lakeside spot makes for an easy day trip from Athlone or a stopping point when traveling the M6 between Dublin and Galway. The village overlooks a narrow section of Lough Ree where you can watch boats threading between the lake's broader northern and southern stretches. There's decent EV charging around Athlone, and a couple of golf courses nearby if you're after a round.
