Ballintubber (Mayo)

united kingdom

united kingdom

Ballintubber sits between Castlebar and Ballinrobe on the R330, about 15 kilometres south of Castlebar if you're coming from Dublin via the M4 and N5. The N84 from Galway through Ballinrobe gives you another decent route in. The village is known for Ballintubber Abbey, founded in 1216 and famous for never closing its doors in over 800 years, not even during the worst of the religious persecution. The surrounding countryside is typical inland Mayo with rolling hills and small lakes. EV drivers will find about 30 public fast chargers scattered around the broader region.
