Most drivers come through on the N84 from Galway via Headford, though you can take the R331 if you're coming from Claremorris direction. It's only 15 kilometers from Ballinrobe, so there's decent connectivity to the surrounding area. The town sits in fairly flat countryside, so driving conditions are straightforward enough. Every August, the place comes alive with the agricultural show, where farming families from all over Mayo gather for livestock competitions and local crafts.
