Aysgarth lies in Wensleydale, famous for its three-tiered waterfalls where the River Ure tumbles over limestone ledges. The A684 runs straight through, linking Leyburn (15km east) with Hawes to the west. Most visitors approach via the A6108 from Ripon or the A1, making it a popular Dales touring stop. The falls featured in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
