Axmouth is a small Devon coastal village where the River Axe meets Lyme Bay, three kilometres west of Seaton via the B3172. Most visitors use the A3052 coastal route or approach from the A35 near Seaton. The sheltered estuary location and 13th-century St Michael's Church, which houses a remarkably preserved medieval stone rood screen with original carved figures, make it worth the winding valley approach.
