Axminster lies in Devon's Axe Valley, five miles from the Jurassic Coast, where the A35 crosses the River Axe. The A358 connects north to Somerset whilst the B3261 leads south to Lyme Regis. Over 40 EV charging points serve the area, and the railway provides direct services to London Waterloo. The town's carpet factory still hand-knots rugs using 18th-century techniques.
