Aviemore serves as the main base for exploring the Cairngorms, positioned on the A9 between Perth and Inverness. The A95 heads west toward Speyside, whilst mountain roads lead to ski slopes and hiking trails. Popular routes include Loch Garten for ospreys and the scenic drive through Rothiemurchus Forest. The 1960s Aviemore Centre remains a striking example of brutalist architecture in an otherwise traditional Highland setting.
